This convertible A-Frame is completely off the grid and perfect for a couple seeking solitude. Live “authentically” (as coined by Thoreau) in this homage to nature. The lovely hosts also provide trail maps, water bottles, a snack basket, organic steel cut oats for breakfast, and assorted board games for a lively atmosphere.
*Word of the wise: leave the small pups at home. Eagles pose a real threat.

A yurt bunkhouse? Sign me up! I don’t know how you feel about these “hippie” bungalows I’m sending your way, but I just can’t get enough of them. I hope you enjoy solitude and stars, because that’s precisely what you’ll get here. Located in a primitive, back country area of Zion, overlooking trails and canyon views, this yurt is perfect for an adventurous group looking to become one with nature.

The toilet, shower & outdoor sink are located in a separate facility adjacent to the yurt. This is a truly authentic experience, only for the most dedicated nature lovers, so good luck!

Posh. Modern. Bright. Luxurious. Stylish: just a few words to describe this lavish studio located in a historic mercantile. Built in 1912, this studio has been completely renovated and includes a gourmet, full sized kitchen, spa-like bathroom, hardwood floors, library and trendy design throughout.
This place may be divine, but it’s location is even better! You can find it at the intersection in Hurricane leads to the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Antelope Canyon, Lake Powell, Coral Pink Sand Dunes, and much more!

This place may be a bit spendier, but I just couldn’t resist including it. I mean, just look at those views! (Besides, with a large group splitting the cost, you’d barely be spending anything at all.) This dream home sits on 5 wooded acres in Orderville and is perched on the rim of a canyon with Zion views. Both private and serene, you’ll certain feel like a king or queen!
Sleeps: 8 Bedrooms: 2 Beds: 5 Baths: 1 Price: $89/night
I’m such a sucker for a contemporary design, especially when it comes in casita form! Located in Cedar City (about 45 minutes north of St. George) this home is probably one of the best deals you’ll find for the amount of people it can accommodate. Adventurous excursions from this locale include: Kanaraville Falls, Cedar Breaks, Kolob Canyon, Zion, Bryce Canyon, Brian Head Ski Resort, and much more!
Sleeps: 4 Beds: 2 Baths: 1/2 Price: $75/night
The kids these days call it “glamping.” “Moonlight Oasis” Camp Zion is an eco-chic camp on a private 1200 acre ranch, featuring luxury 16 foot wide x 9 ft fully furnished tents. Views overlook Zion National Park and the location provides refuge from the insane crowds, yet only minutes to town – making off-the-grid living as comfortable as possible. Hosts call it “rustic yet chic” where you’ll find them riding horses to work and minding the ranch. Oh, and don’t forget about the stellar star views!
*Noted: showers aren’t really a thing here. Your hosts do provide shower bags, but paid hot showers are available in Springdale near the Zion NP main gate entrance. Also, bring a solar charging cord for your phone, because electricity isn’t really a thing either… It’s all a part of the rustic charm!
Sleeps: 6 Bedrooms: 2 Beds: 4 Baths: 2 Price: $99/night
This is the only home I managed to find in the downtown St. George area with rustic and unique elements, like the previously mentioned homes. This restored granary sits on the lot of the historic William F Butler Home and is one of the earliest buildings erected in St. George. Its pioneer charm is rich in history and is located walking distance from the downtown district. Enjoy finding chic furniture and fun vintage apparel at Urban Renewal, or grab a pie at Rigatti’s Pizzeria (my fav pizza joint in the area).
Sleeps: 6 Bedrooms: 2 Beds: 4 Baths: 1 Price: $179/night
So… For some reason, I can’t create a list of the “bests” without including at least one thing from Escalante. Besides St. George, of course, Escalante is one of the most magical and beautiful places I’ve ever found myself. It’s central location allows for immediate access to Capital Reef, Bryce, Zion, Arches, Canyonlands, endless slot canyons, Coyote Gulch, Calf Creek Falls, and more! Enjoy the rustic charm of the area in style, here! The Escalante Escapes are located just off beautiful Scenic Byway 12 in the Grand Staircase Escalante Monument and offers a luxurious stay for the end of an adventurous day.
